FAQs
Questions guests ask
What to expect before, during and after a visit. If your question is not here, call or WhatsApp and we will answer it directly.
What happens during a visit?
The doctor arrives at your suite or residence at the confirmed time, in plain clothes with an unmarked medical bag. The consultation covers your history, an examination and treatment where possible on the spot — the visit allows up to an hour, so nothing is rushed. Before leaving, the doctor explains the diagnosis, the plan, and anything that follows: a prescription delivered to the hotel, blood tests, a referral or a follow-up call.
How quickly can a doctor be with me?
For Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea — SW1, SW3 and SW7 — the doctor is usually with you within the hour. We confirm the expected arrival time when you call, before anything is charged.
Can I claim the visit on my insurance?
We provide itemised invoices and receipts suitable for international insurance claims, including Bupa Global, AXA Health, Allianz and Cigna. Payment is made to the clinic at the time of care, and you reclaim from your insurer using our documents. If your insurer requires specific wording or forms, tell the doctor at the visit.
I take medication prescribed abroad — can you prescribe it here?
In most cases, yes. The doctor confirms the medication and dose — a photograph of the packaging helps — and issues a private prescription for the UK equivalent, delivered to your hotel usually the same day. Some medicines are regulated differently in the UK; the doctor will explain what is possible during the consultation.
Do you see children?
Yes. Our GPs see children as well as adults, at visits and by video. A parent or guardian must be present throughout any consultation with a child.
Can I have a chaperone present?
Yes. A chaperone can be arranged for any examination on request — ask when booking or at any point during the visit. You are also welcome to have a family member or member of hotel staff present.
What if I need to cancel?
Call or WhatsApp as soon as your plans change. A visit cancelled before the doctor sets out carries no charge; once the doctor is en route, the visit fee applies. Video consultations can be rearranged without charge with reasonable notice.
What does a visit cost?
£450 for a visit on weekdays between 08:00 and 20:00, and £550 out of hours — each allowing up to an hour with the doctor. Every fee, including consultations and additional time, is on the pricing page.
Can I see the same doctor again after I leave London?
Yes. Follow-up video consultations are available from anywhere in the world, with the doctor who saw you. Many guests also book a visit or clinic appointment for their next stay.
